Round 4 Outlaws vs President at Tamarac SC.
Round 4 had the two remaining undefeated teams of this young 2016 season set to do battle on a very bright and cool day at Tamarac SC. The ground was in great condition and the wicket was flat and smooth, suggesting a run fest.
Both teams were looking to win the toss and bat as the two captains made their way out to the middle for the coin toss. The toss was won by President and as expected they decided to have a bat.
The openers for President were Gussie and Samuel. They were looking to get President off to a flyer. As usual the ball was given to Fahron to start the bowling for Outlaws. He was supported well by Ryan Adam making his Outlaws debut.
Both batsmen started watchfully while picking up singles on offer and the odd boundaries. The fast outfield produced a few misfields that went for boundaries as well. This coupled with a few good stroke plays and President was off to the start they wanted.
The opening partnership was approaching 50 runs when some good fielding from Anoop in the covers saw Samuel short of his ground at the non-strikers end. OutLaws finally had a breakthrough with the score on 49.
President Captain Anil join Gussie and they produced some quick runs before Anil was caught by Avinash off the bowling of Anoop for 16. Anthony join gussie and they saw President to the break at 92 for 2.
In the second half Outlaws pulled the game back into their favor as they started picking up wickets at regular intervals. The dangerous Gussie was bowled by Anoop for a well played 53. After Gussie’s departure, the run rate staggered as the new batsmen found it difficult to deal with the fiery pace of Andrew and Kaiume. President could only muster a total of 182 runs after what was a promising first half.

Outlaws conceded an alarming 53 extras to President’s total.
As the game resumed for Outlaws chase, the general consensus were that the target of 182 was below par for the way the wicket and ground was playing on that given day.
Anoop and Vivian went to the middle to open the batting, both hoping to continue their good form and get a big score on a good batting wicket. First bowler up was Javed Mohamed who sent down a wide
with his first delivery. His next ball was an in swinging yorker to Anoop, which the batsman stepped into, making it a low full toss that was dispatched into the wide long-off region for a boundary and the run fest started. The hard hitting Vivian was especially destructive to the bowlers as he launched massive sixes to all parts of the ground. By the end of the 10th over the score was already pass 120 and the outcome of the game was already secured. The opening partnership grew to 141-runs before Anoop was run out off a misfield by Anthony, who was alert enough to locate the ball and run out the captain at the non-strikers end. Anoop went for a well played 55 with 8x4s and 1×6.
Nazim joined Vivian at the crease and the carnage continued. Vivian was merciless on the bowlers as he was quickly approaching his century. The target was quickly approaching also and hence Nazim had to see out some dot balls to ensure Vivian gets a chance at that prized milestone. The next time Vivian got on strike was all she-wrote. He launched two massive sixes to bring up his century and secured the victory for Outlaws. His inning of 6 fours and 11 sixes was one of brute force. Vivian’s batting display was one of class as he didn’t offer up any chances to the fielding side. Outlaws inning finished on 184 for 1 in 16.2 overs.
